Have fun Rosie. Stay safe. Play hard. Let them know it's not male/female differences that cause conflict, just personality differences...

I've waited and now watched.
I wish Rosie all the best.
She needs to step her "game" up a bit. I don't know if her heart is not into it, but it doesn't have the translated passion of her original show. I know this will probably make me a bit unpopular...and of course this is only one mans opinion.
I think she needn't be afraid of controlling the dialog on the show...I think she does need to be congnizant of not owning her role. If Barbara wanted someone that was merely a moderator and not a "personality" she could have hired another reporter.
There is distince chemistry between her and Barbara, but it lacks between her and the other panelists. She needs to bring that out in them. I think if she raises her game it will allow the others to raise their game as well, they would need to. She is a personality that can function as a "solo" to a greater degree than Joy and Elisabeth in my opinion...although Joy is hilarious and has worked successfully as a solo. Joy's role as I see it on the program has always been that of a witty, commonsensical, commentator and not a lead.

I hear what you're saying, Up, and have noticed some of the same things. It will be interesting to see how things shake out over the next few weeks as everyone gets more comfortable with each other in this new setting. I think that Rosie and Joy have known each other for a long time and Joy has even performed on an R Family cruise. There is definately some fun jabbing at each other and familiarity with each other there. I sense some weird tensions with Rosie and Elisabeth, which is most likely due to the hype around their potential explosive interactions on social and political issues and them not really knowing each other as well as Barbara and Joy and Rosie do.
And I find your comments about being a "solo" performer very interesting. I'll have to watch that dynamic a little more. It seems like Rosie, Barbara and Joy are all good at capitalizing on audience and/or interviewee reactions.
I have to say that I love that she's talking about her family and her kids and her relationship with Kelly so honestly and sincerely. I also really love that she shares her parenting stories and shares them using the voice, tone and words she uses with her kids. It gives her another dimension and side for everyone to see - soft, gentle, caring, sincere - beyond the brash lesbian comedian with strong opinions on social and political issues. I just love it, especially the sincerity - it really touches me as a parent and makes me proud as a gay parent to have her represent me.

Rosie is doing an AMAZING job...very professional and very funny and very classic Rosie! I am just thrilled at how the dynamics on the show are going. Elisabeth is young and very right wing, but she is also open, sweet, smart and considerate and I've seen her smile and laugh and just genuinely appearing to be enjoying herself in this new setting. Barbara looks happy and pleased - I'm sure she is just thrilled that the audience for the most part are enjoying the new change. Joy looks beautiful and she's funnier than ever...cracks me up every day and I'm looking forward to this year being truly a lighter and more honest show. The timing for Rosie to be on TV again is what we all need in these tough times. She is about loving your family, being honest, reaching out and helping others, doing all this while working under lots of pressures...just like all of us in our daily lives...but even more so when people are so quick to throw out unpleasant words and hostility. Like my mother always said...if you can't say something nice, dont' say anything at all. We've wished you good luck Rosie....and you obviously got it! Bravo :D

Wendee -- I love your avatar picture! Reminds me of the old Juliette Low pictures from Girl Scouts - ahhh, happy times.
I appreciate your comments and really agree with your insight on it becoming a more honest and real show. It will be interesting to see if they bring in another person or stick with the chemistry and team they are building. It really is almost getting back to the original focus of the show and away from the personal promotion, hostility and combative nature the show had taken on. I would much rather watch people I respect, regardless of their opinion, enjoying the company of each other and the discussion from their perspective. I'm pulling for Rosie and Elisabeth.

I apologize as the email should have read "Wendeeeee" and not "Cheryl", although I hear great things about Cheryl from the folks in her kingdom. I'm thinking all from one of the few remaining monarchical regions in the midwest.

Hey Uptight (oops) UPSTATE,
I have been called a Pillar of the community..Yes I have a draw full of valium..and Zanax..
We ( The Royal Family) also have an established repore that allows us to insult each other in a playfull and funny manner.
We have managed to create a playground that is quite loving but yet supportive.
We have been formally introduced.
We R the ROYAL FAMILY.
You need a CRASHING 101 class.
One does not insult the Host or Hostess upon arrival.
"Our BELOVED KING ROSIE"
when one comes to a party unannounced.
One introduces themselves in a proper manner.
You arrived late, univited, and started to insult people you dont know.
In addition you brought an Entemanns cake .We don't do Entemanns.
We are Royals.
Did you expect the Kings Royal Marching BAND to welcome you with open arms.
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!! that is reserved for R ROYAL FAMILY.
I am afraid that you are going to need much more than CRASHING 101.

I took the day off work to see Rosie's first day on Tuesday but havent seen any other days because I'm holed up working for the man from 8-6. I really feel like I am missing out, I have seen every episode of the Rosie O show and I dont want to miss anything on the view. Just venting, I suppose dvd-r is my only hope.
Hope all is well in the kingdom tonight. I came late and uninvited also......let me know what kind of cake will do to rectify this.
PS ROSIE IS A BAD ASS BY DEFINITION, FORM, AND SHOW. WE SHOULD START CALLING HER ROSIE BAD ASS WHAT YA THINK?

Hey JH! I am also locked away in my tiny work cubicle and do not have the modern TV miracle technology to watch the show later in the day. I got a little walkman-style radio that also get TV stations on it so I can at least listen to the show during work. It's not great but I at least feel "in touch" with the program. (And I can catch up on my Maury Povich paternity shows!)

We use good old-fashioned video tape. It works great. The problem is finding the time to watch - work, making dinner, helping daughter get her homework done, take her bath, get to bed.....
I did watch every night last week. Rosie was great! I just love having her be out and talking about Kelli and the kids.
