Hi,
Since we are going to Alaska I am planning on excusions.I would check back as the cruise gets closer R Family usualy lists the excursions prior to depatutre. If you have children you can buy them a a soda/juice tag it is about $ 35 per child it gives them unlimited drinks for the entire cruise. I reccommend it. The adults drinks are charged to the room.
WELCOME you are in for a great vacation and awesome experiance.:o

The first 2 cruises my partner and I spent about 850.00 - 900.00, including our excursions. we do not have children. The friends we traveled with do have a young ( 2) son, and I think they were in a similar price range. This trip however, looks to be a tad more pricey due to the excursions. I'm planning on the price being around 1500.00 -2000.00. This does not include our airfare or hotel.

Hi,
We are a family of two moms and three little ones. We spent around $1,000 on the last cruise and couldn't find time to do more. Hope your first experience is as positive as ours was. Welcome.

You actually don't need cash for any onboard spending because you link a credit card to your cabin. However, while you are in ports you'll need spending money for goodies to bring back for your extended families. Possibly also if you choose to go to Seattle for a day or 2 early or even stay a day or 2 after the cruise, spending money will be needed then!

Hope that was helpful!!!

One other thing you might want money for is alcoholic drinks. I believe that there is a charge for sodas also. But, coffee, tea (hot and cold), milk and water are all included in the price of the cruise.

Don't forget "throw-away" money for the casino! I always set a limit before the cruise starts, and I always surpass that limit by the 2nd night! But, hey ... it's all part of the fun!

I have been on cruises where people have had so much alcohol that they must have forgotten that every time they signed that little slip of paper that the cost was going on their credit cards! I swear that the cabin next to me on one cruise had a bill outside the last morning that was a full inch thick! I never saw those people leave their cabin for the entire cruise. They must have been too drunk to leave! (FYI - that was not on an r family cruise.)

Is July still really 7 long months away?

Take care,
Arlene

I definitly spent too much money on the 1st cruise, the the trip was great, the ports were great. the New England crusie I spent about 40% less. We didn't get off the boat often and didn't really buy much either. There are 3 people in my family, so I figured it out to 100.00 a day per person, that's including my 11 year old, on this last crusie it was a nice treat to go home with some money, but I think for Alaska we are going to up it to 150.00 a day for the just in case, and also bring an extra credit card for the ICE, my mom says always better to have more then to not have enough.
