Don't take it personally... I don't believe that the Team is trying to be elusive or secretive.. My theory is that most performers cannot commit to something this far out. So.. they probably wait until closer to cruise time to book the entertainers... The theatre world is very unpredictable.. and jobs come and go on a dime.... so.. committing someone publicly to a cruise is probably not something they can do.. imagine all the outrage that could be caused if the team promised the cruisers an entertainer and then that entertainer was offered an amazing run in a broadway show that would not allow them the week off for the cruise and they had to back out??? The post count would be unbelievable! LOL!! So... some entertainers CAN commit.. and others... Cannot... just be patient.. and no matter what.. we always know that the entertainment is top notch!! Sometimes it is nice to be surprised too :)

Valid points. My assumption was based on the surprise factor and you are most likely right. I would be one of the first boohooers if someone had to back out. Thanks for sharing those thoughts. Makes the wait so much easier!

Well i hope it isn't Rufus. I watched an interview where he said he couldn't care less about gay marriage. That he thought all the fuss over prop 8 was silly. I tossed all my Cd's in the garbage. Maybe some day when he starts a family he will rethink words that are used to hurt his own community.

I saw the ad for this cruise in A Bears Life magazine. Any info on thing they may be planning? Can't wait for this trip and to hear who some of the entertainment will be. We are really looking forward to it.

It will be a bonus to see who is our headliner....but we are already soooo happy to be on the cruise it really doesn't matter.

In these economic times, I do get a bit concerned when the entertainment is not yet secured. I would think that the entertainers need to schedule a year in advance. Olivia already has their entertainment listed for their September Alaska cruise.

You know I could care less if there was entertainment. I would enjoy Rosie doing some stand up and just being with each other. How about a big talent show?????? That would be new and exciting. How about a night time luha by the pool. Entertainment is fine but it is not the most important to me. Maybe 1 big name like Erasure, Cyndi, and Gloria from past cruises.

Besides that there are quite a few Characters that are as entertaining as any paid preformer.LOL Boy I can't wait to see everyone again.
It has been very difficult week.We lost someone very close and dear to us.

I should leave it alone but of course I won't. My opinion is, that while I struggle to come up with the remainder of the cost for this summers cruise, I need all the help I can get in justifying it. While I dearly love the yellow of the peeps, and feel my family could not get this anywhere else, I feel like headliners are a big draw for us. I fool myself into thinking that my kids might not see talent, or shows of the caliber that R Family gives us. It would be tough to justify the much higher cost if not for this. A mainstream cruise will not have many families like mine, it's true. It is the parties, it is the broadway shows, it is the classes for the kids, it is the workshops, it is the friends we have made and absolutely since we live in a cultural wasteland it IS about the entertainment. I can hardly wait to get details- details - details. Sorry 'luv to cruise' that your comment might not have been heard in the spirit I am sure you meant it. I agree maybe that some of us are counting on the talent too. we are for sure. Soon...TJ and family

Insurance is a great idea no matter what, for a trip like this. My family ate a huge loss because we didn't have it last year. My kids other parent got ill enroute to 08 summer cruise and couldn't make the cruise after all. Her ticket was a loss, her flight home was a loss, and on top of out of state hospital costs, this was tough to swallow. We won't make that mistake twice. I know many people don't forsee this happening but it does and can in any family.

The entertainers are not announced early historically on R Family because of the caliber of entertainers. There have been others who were booked who last minute had to cancel because of a death in their family. Other cruise lines have entertainers on payroll that perform regularly in their venue. It is hard to deal with all kinds of unknowns but it will come together and you won't be sorry. TJ

We bought insurance last year and I am glad that we did. My partner became very ill and had to leave the cruise in Bar Harbor, ME.

The travel insurance company made all of the arrangements for our flight home, TWICE. Frankie was not able to fly on the day that we thought we were going home. I called the insurance company and they re-booked us for the next day. It was a blessing to have someone else take care of that aspect of dealing with her illness. It let me focus on the other things that needed to be done. It did also save us lots of cash.

Needless to say, I bought insurance for this year's cruise as well.
