Does R Family contract with any airlines to provide discount airfare? I live in New Jersey and roundtrip to Seattle is pretty expensive. I thought as gas prices decreased so would airfare, but I have not noticed that. Thanks!

For San Francisco Bay Area Travelers.
I found decent airfare from Oakland to Seattle.
Tonight Southwest has 97.00 dollars each way.
American had 89.00 each way
It is nice not to have to pay the high fares to go to the east coast.
Sorry all my New York and east coast friends.
We are flying in on the 9th.:)

Kathy and I just booked with american the other day and our Hotwire price was 399.00 roundtrip each which was a bit less than the offer through the July cruise discount. This was out of JFK NY nonstop Seattle. Hope this helps. :)

I just looked up the same exact flight for American Airlines, first using the A9979AC discount code, and then using no discount code..
The flight with the discount was about $720.. and the flight without the discount was about $550..
For others also looking for cheaper rates.. I've always had great discounts at Orbitz' GayTravel at www.orbitz.com/gaytravel

Now that i've got the blog back up and running, I just posted some pre- and post-cruise money saving tips (including some airfare related ones).
We're flying AirTran from DC, and got a very reasonable fare and they fly direct, which is key for us with 2 toddlers!.
I would point out that Southwest is a great option if you can get a good fare because they don't charge for bags. That means you'll spend $30 more if you check one bag ($15 each way) and $100 more ($50 each way) if you check two bags on American!!
i think kayak.com (http://kayak.com) is a great resource for checking airline fares- it aggregates almost all of them (notably, Southwest is not included)...

For anybody coming from southern Ontario or upstate New York the flights from Toronto went down last week but I just got an email from Air Canada saying this was the last day for their world-wide discounts. I'm no expert in following airfares, but two weeks ago it was $2800 (Cdn) from Toronto for three of us and I booked us this past week for $1730. That's cheaper than the best rate to fly out of Buffalo, but I'm guessing it won't be after today. I wish I'd known sooner to post but maybe this will help somebody.

We are from Jersey and just booked with Alaska Airlines out of Newark.
I looked at American and noticed that the flights out of Newark were on Alaska Air and if you chose one of those flights the promo code wasn't good. So I went directly to Alaska Air and booked flights with an early booking non-refundable fare of $269 one way. So it came to $1600 and change for the three of us total.
We are flying out on the night of the 9th so we have Friday in Seattle and staying at the Renaissance.
wooohooo!!

Anyone in the NYC area... Prices just dropped nearly $100 from Newark to Seattle on many airlines. I booked with Continental a while ago at $460 and the fares have dropped to under $350 with all taxes and fees. Of course for all of us who booked, we're out of luck.

Not sure if anyone is flying from Southern Cali but I have been watching airfare and as of today you can fly from LAX to Seattle via Alaska Airlines or Long Beach to Seattle via JetBlue for $219.20 per person.

We got the same fare and we are flying from Long Beach also. (Never know we might run into each other at the airport). The price I quoted yesterday included all the taxes and stuff as of yesterday.
