Hi Kelli and Gregg,

I was wondering if there were going to be any west coast excursions next year. We unfortunately did not get to go on the Alaska cruise because I was still in my graduate program this summer. We would LOVE to go on some trips with Rfamily, and would love to see some more west coast travels.

Any ideas or anything coming up???

I'll second this! It's almost too much to pay for the cruise and airfare to the East Coast...not to mention the extra couple days off of work just to travel.

Food for thought R Family...your first West Coast cruise was also the first to sell out! Coincidence???

I don't know if it is a coincidence, but I would totally love it if there was a west coast cruise every year. Maybe they could do one west coast and one east coast cruise every year. If there ws a west coast cruise every year, we would atttend every year.

You are correct about the airfare and extra days. i know that the east coast people would have the same problem with the west coast cruises, so that is why i propose 2 cruises a year ( at least) one on the west coast, and one on the east coast.

West coast cruises could be Alaska, (outer passage & Innner passage)hawaii, mexico, L.A. to seattle, etc. I think alot of the fun of the cruise doesn't depend on the excursions, it depends on the family feeling on the boat.

We definitely second that thought about more on the West Coast. RFamily has a huge following on the West Coast and there are so many opportunities out here, both cruises and landbased trips. It would be great to have annual options on the West Coast & the East Coast. So far, it has been a bit one-sided therefore making it impossible financially for a lot of people to attend.

We appreciate all that you guys do and can't wait to hear about some less expensive land based trips :)

I'd like a Midwest cruise, actually. Any chance of putting an ocean somewhere around Kansas? Failing that, we could probably take a paddlewheeler down the Mississippi... or maybe NCL could put a ship in Lake Michigan!

Great positive attitude, Mary. No whining about how it can be expensive to fly to either coast from the midwest, just a can-do attitude about bringing the cruise to where you live.

We loved the Alaska trip so much that we actually came back and looked up government jobs! Now, the goal is to take a land based Alaska trip because the cruise was just a taste of what is there and how there is so more to explore. We saw whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, bears, eagles..but no moose, caribou which are more inland (near Denali), so a R Family land based trip would be incredible! :D

Those of us in the Southwest certainly wouldn't mind an occasional cruise from the Gulf Coast - out of Galveston or New Orleans. That is a real possibility and would save us tons on airfare. ;)

I third...or is that forth?...the vote on West Coast Cruises! But, then I'd miss my East Coasters that I've met :( Anyway, I just vote to keep on cruising and we'll just do the best we can to save up our pennies! Texas is a wonderful landing point for cruising. Great idea and hopefully they'll get that one going. I also want to encourage the land based adventures...again keeping that close to home..would be nice! Just wanted to add my two cents and say thank you again to RFamily for bringing R ship to us this year...Alaska was incredible!
