Hi all -
My partner and I are from the Indianapolis area and have a beautiful 4 1/2 year old son by donor insemination. He calls us Mommy and Mommy D.D., by the way! :) We are considering an international adoption for our 2nd and I do have some questions.
In the research I have done so far, it appears that we won't have a problem finding a US agency that supports adoption by same sex couples. It looks like the problem might be getting around international adoption laws. So, my questions are:
1. Does anyone know of any countries that support adoption by a US gay couple?
2. If so, which ones?
3. If not, is the only way to get around the issue by adopting as a single parent and then completing a co-parent adoption at a later time?
4. Or, is the best way to start with foster parenting?
We are flexible with the country but wondered how so many of you beautiful and colorful families made it all happen. We would love to hear your stories!!
Thanks so much for your input!!
