The View on the Caribbean Cruise?

Am I the only one who has this thought running through their head?

Rosie O’Donnell will be moderating “The View” beginning in September.

February is “Sweeps Month” for television programming: The Caribbean cruise is mid-February. It seems highly unlikely that Rosie could or would take a week off of “The View” during such a time. So, that leaves four possibilities:

1. Rosie will not be on the Cruise (This one is unlikely because she is a founding member and she has already said she would be on this cruise on her website).
2. Rosie will be taping segments from the cruise to air daily on “The View” (Possible, but it wouldn’t really make for great TV).
3. “The View” will be shot live on the cruise via satellite. (It’s been done before—by Regis and Kelly—but logistically it would be difficult because the Cruise will be “at Sea” on two of the days; additionally, can you imagine Elizabeth on the Cruise?)
4. Rosie is taking a weeks vacation during sweeps.

Then, of course, there is the other option: That I have way to much free time on my hands and have given this way to much thought.:rolleyes:

oh my goodness, Elizabeth on the cruise would just be too great......She would probably break into hives when she walked on the ship. We would of course have to get her one of the shirts that say Lifelong Democrat just for fun. :)

Humm... this is a possiblity indeed; ;) however, It's a live daily show--Hot Topics etc... and the only time I've ever seen a "tape" is when they repeat previously aired episodes when they are on vacation. Still... a good one.:)

Well, like 'Martha Stewart', it is a live show and it airs daily but it is not necessarily aired live on the day it was filmed. I was at a recent taping of a Martha show and they aired it 2 days later.

They will probably use guest hosts that week that Rosie is on the cruise. They probably knew it when she agreed to do the View. Same as when people wondered if Gavin Creel would be on the Alaska cruise because of "Mary Poppins". He had it written into his contract that he could go on the cruise.

Her blog says she will work following her kids schedule. I assume they have the famous New England "ski week" break in February and she probably doesn't work at the VIEW that week.

I could swear that I read someone that Rosie worked it into her contract that she would have the weeks of the cruises off, but darn I can't remember where I read it (was it her blog?) Oh well!

If Miss Rosie was somehow unable to make the cruise :( .

What would be truly awsome, is if they could arrange live satelite hook-up to have The View played while we were on the Cruise. I love The View, they have had the best ratings since Star Jones isn't on The View anymore. That show is going to totally rock, once Miss Rosie starts as the new Host of The View.

I really don't think Rosie would miss the cruise.

More than likely they will do some live segments or tape beforehand.

Humm… I started this thread back on July 21, 2006… and it entered thread waste-land ten days later.

Yesterdays post by Kelli (on another thread) reminded me of my precognitive abilities:

Ro will be on board for the first 3 days, but then she has to go back to work at the View.

Will Kelli see us guys next week? Will the Caribbean Cruise be fun and fabulous despite Rosie’s absence for most of it? :confused:
