Just wanted to share this really positive r family cruise story about something lost and assumed gone forever...

Rosie's Meat and Potatoes Man and his husband found a check book along with a significant amount of cash in their room on the cruise ship. They took the time to find the rightful owner from the previous cruise and returned it to an extremely happy and suprised traveler. Why doesn't this ever happen to me? ...although, I'd hate to be faced with THAT ethical decision.

Rosie's Meat and Potatoes Man sure is a crazy and fun guy, but what a great heart.

We have a positive story too. I left our camera on the bench outside the casino one day. I had seen the sign in the elevator of the lost camera for several days so I was crushed. I sent my wife down there to see if anyone had turned it in because I didn't want to face the fact that all of our pictures would be lost.

I am happy to report that the bartender in the bar of the casino had the camera. Someone had found it and given it to him. He had placed it in a bag and labled it and it was ready to be delivered to the lost and found. I am so sorry to the couple who never got theirs back. I think that is horrible. However, a big thank you to who ever found ours and turned it in.

There are honest people out there and hopefully the good karma will come back to them many times over.

Thanks to you .........whoever you are!?!

That is funny...lots of stories. We found a blank check for $5000 at the airport on the way. I wasn't sure what to do so I tore it up and mailed it back to the people in Miami. I said good karma came from that because we had an excellent trip and lots of good things happen to us along the way.

Well....my son's luggage never made it to the NCL terminal...still having hope against hope that some wonderful person 'accidentally' took it and it will come back! As a 16 yr. old teenager...it had "ALL" his clothes in it! Not to mention his souvenirs he bought at the ports :( However, I'm glad there are still honest people in the world and if someone has my son's luggage 'by accident', I hope they will re-think and get in touch with NCL :)

WenDee -- My sincere sympathies. A few years ago we went to Vermont for a civil union. My luggage was lost. It took days and the airline delivering someone else's luggage to our B&B while we were gone -- we had to have them come back from the airport 100 miles away to pick it up and go 100 miles in the other direction to exchange it etc. I thought I was going to get hitched in the same dirty jeans I'd been wearing for 4 days! My stuff got there the night before the ceremony.

Now, I'm not suggesting that it's likely -- just that it is POSSIBLE for your son's suitcase to show up again. And when and if it does -- it may have had some very interesting travel experiences!

Seriously, I know this sucks and I'm so sorry!!

Hey, MommyCheryl,

My luggage got lost on the trip for our VT civil union, too. Fortunately, I got it the next day and had my dress in plenty of time for the ceremony. Funny, this was the only time my luggagge was lost and we fly into Hartford almost every time we go east.

While everyone is putting out request for lost items..... My son had a CD signed by Cyndi Lauper and it was to be delivered to our room. It is for a charity auction he is having. It never made it to the room. I am assuming it got delivered to the wrong room. So if anyone thought Cyndi was sending them an autographed CD they were not exspecting we would love to get it back. You can always buy it back when he has the auction Sept. 23 on ebay. He has 35 items from all sorts of different celebs. Tomorrow he is meeting with the American Idols and they are donating something, not sure what yet. Anyway if you found the CD and would like to return it that would be awesome. I am thinking it would sale for enought to provide backpacks with supplies for about 10 to 15 homeless kids.

Hello Picfan aka Laurie and Stephanie,

You youngest son sounds a inspiration to us all with all of the stuff he has done to help the homeless kids in the nation. I think R Family should let him bring his bucket on one of their Cruises. This is definately something that I know my family and friends would donate to. People are always saying why are we taking care of other countries, when we have people here in our own nation that are in need of the help. I believe that charity begins at home and that we need to set a example for the kids of the nation, so that they can have a chance grow-up and carry on this effort. I also work with charities in the community that I live in, because being in the medical field I have seen so many men, women with children who are down on their luck.

I again want to applaud your son of the efforts and the movement of " paying it forward that he has started and is continuing to work at.

I guess I will throw my request out for our lost item. We lost our one walkie talkie and I ask you, what can you do with only ONE walkie talkie? It is a Cobra Microtalk with 22 channels and 38 privacy codes. It is black with a rubber antenna and a silver face. We checked lost and found every day but it wasn't turned in. We are hoping that someone didn't know they picked it up until they got home and had three of them.

If you had an extra one when you got home, I would appreciate if you would email me at wigglewomyn@aol.com. We would gladly reimburse you the posting to mail it to us.

Thanks.

Wendy

Thanks for the heads up that this is the Lost and Found now. We're the fmaily who lost our camera, and never got it back. Someone who went to the lounge at the front of the ship came home with a three week old Nikon D50 with all of our pictures of our kids in Washington before the cruise - horseback riding in the mountaina with my partner and my cousin, picking berries on her farm, picnicking at Deception Pass, and the first two days of the cruise. We're using the pics others took for our scrapbook, but our little digitals that we got the kids didn't get the whales in mid air or the eagles, or any of the other spectacular shots we expected to bring home. I hope that person had a majorly sucky cruise, lost their luggage, and had three flights cancelled.

To the luggage folks- did you buy insurance? I know very well the special things cannot be replaced any more than our memories, but the cost of smoe could be reimbursed. I am filing my claim tomorrow, if I can get NCL to call back (three tries so far, and an hour on the phone) to fax my lost report from the cruise.

I hope anyone else who lost stuff gets it back. That's so not the way to treat people.
