I am a single 34 yr old woman who hasn't had the opportunity to go on one of the R Family cruises yet however I definately plan to be on the Bermuda cruise in 2007. I'll admit that I first looked upon the cruises as being for gay parents with kids. I was soooo wrong, it is for families. Everyone's family. As my mother is in the early stages of accepting myself as a lesbian I decided to watch the documentary with her. This documentary has brought our relationship to a whole new level and has been a great ice breaker to open up dialogue between us. I am so thankful that we don't only get to see images of ourselves but that our straight family members can see themselves as well in the documentary. Thank you Rosie, Kelli, Gregg among others. The impact of the documentary on my life has been extraordinary!

What an incredible perspective! I had not even thought of straight family members seeing their place in all of this. There is so much about us - coming out, acceptance, etc. I never thought about seeing it from a straight family members perspective. Thank you for this insight - it's going to open up a whole new conversation with my mom. She doesn't have cable so hadn't seen the documentary until the Alaska cruise. She went to see it by herself. She told us she was moved and cried and talked to Shari Cookson about it when we ran in to her later the next day. Thank you again for sharing this!:D
