Since there has been a southeastern, northeastern and northwestern cruise how about a cruise out of Los Angeles to Mexico? I think a mexican cruise would be fabulous.

I forgot to mention that my daughter's new best friend lives on Maui. Hi, Jenna. Also, hi to her wonderful moms and our new friends Malia and Dee. I hope that you are having a great time visiting on the east coast!

We just booked an 8 day Mexican Riviera cruise out of Los Angeles for November 14, 2006. Got the cruise fever and can't wait to cruise again - it won't be the same as the r Family cruise, but we'll get to enjoy that in February. It's aboard the Norwegian Star and looks like lots of fun - great itinerary! We'll let you know how it was - or you can join us!!!:)
Cheers!

We'll go anywhere with R Family as long as it leaves from the West Coast! lol It's too expensive for us canadians to fly east. Hawaii or Mexico would be awesome!!:D

I'm presuming you're out of BC if you want to stick to the West Coast for trips - but, don't discount the East Coast. There are always good deals to be had out of Seattle. Check out some of the search engines: expedia, travelocity, etc... I've flown from Seattle to the east coast for less than a flight from Vancouver to LA. Just a thought!
Cheers

Hawaii in the works :D . Unless something unexpected comes up - we will be there!!! We agree with Beck and Pam, something leaving closer to the west coast is the only way can afford to purchase a cruise again. We were looking into flights from Vancouver to Miami for the Feb cruise (which we won, thanks again) and realized it is less expensive for us to fly to Hawaii. So now the air miles we have been saving up for 7 years (for our dream trip to Hawaii) are going to our trip to Miami. We will need to start saving for the possibilities in 08/09.... Looking forward to it. That and seeing all the people we met from the west coast again.
Beck, Pam - hope you 4 enjoyed the extra days in Seattle! Then had enough left over for the shopping you planned in Vancouver on your way home.

Cool! Thank you for this tidbit of information. It may even be useful for next year if we fly to hawaii or down south for the mexico cruise.

Hi Nancy,
Good to hear from you. Ahhh..thats too bad you couldnt got on the trip. We're saving for the R Family March Cruise to Mexico next year. We're hoping to save enough to take Pam's grandma this time. She'd love it. They had said Hawaii was in the works too so I wonder if that will end up being the Summer cruise. We might have to take out a loan!
Hope Yanik and her sisters are having having a wonderful time. :)

No cruise in 2008 going to Hawaii; they said they are trying to work it out for 2009. One of the reasons it is still in the works is because the airfare is so expensive.

Hi Yanik,
Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time. Someone had said Mexixo is planned from March 15th to 22nd if I'm not mistaken. Its an Holland American Cruise ship leaving from San Diego. We looked into the ship and we're actually contemplating not going because it doesnt look like a kid friendly ship...no waterslides etc... I wonder if anyone has been on their ships? So we are thinking since we have more time to save we're going to go on the Bahamas one at the end of July instead.. We'll wait and see what the ships etc are when they offciially annouce 08 cruises.. and then decide. Alls good and we wish we could of cruised this year but have to keep saving to make it next year.
Take care and chat soon,
Beck

Beck,
The July cruise in 2008 leaves on July 27, 2008 from Port Canaveral. The ship will be the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas. That is all that was announced so far; no pricing, etc. They are still working on that and will notify us as soon as they have the details ironed out.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am really going to miss NCL....I LOVE the freestyling cruising and all those restaurants!!!

I spoke with Jackie at R Family for a bit yesterday and Gregg is going to be sailing the HAL Oosterdam in a few weeks to work out the logistics…and, this includes reviewing the kids programs as well as dining options. She mentioned that they MAY offer both freestyle AND assigned seating times. Having both would be a nice alternative, I think, especially for those who don’t have children.
I personally think it is nice to experience different cruise lines…yes, NCL is wonderful…but, I feel confident after talking to Jackie that R Family will ensure that every cruise is a great experience for everyone!! It will definitely be more intimate as the passenger capacity is much less and, after reading many reviews, passengers seem to love the ship, the staterooms, the food, the kids program, and the entertainment. And, this is without adding the magic of R Family!!
My partner and I travel to Cabo San Lucas frequently…if anyone wants ideas on things to do here, let me know! If you want so see some humpbacks, this is the place to do it…even in March!! I highly recommend that everyone visit Mexico at least once. The culture is very interesting and the people are so incredibly friendly. Yes, the ports are modernized with all of the shopping and dining (like the Caribbean islands), but I recommend visiting the backcountry...it's pretty amazing!
Happy travels!!

Humpbacks-Oh Kristi, I so love it when you talk dirty-I loved the part also about exploring the back country:eek: Seriously though...THe adventiures will continue in the summer with Kristi and I and family-we will also be there in March..love the upscale rooms-reserved -ready-and waiting. Plus Kristi and I can have coffee together on our grand verandas for a week---priceless.
Oh yeah-plus I will have an addition to my family-and baby makes four. My husband is already talking about 2 more-WHAT??????? And Kristi will have given birth to our love child..theres another kid. If you read my past posts, I accidently touched her breastesses so surely she will become pregnant- I am expecting something to come out of her immaculate contraption:eek:

The balconies on the Norwegian were totally safe for kids. Our 4 and 6 yr old loved sitting out on it in the evenings while we were all getting ready (with one of us with them of course). If you can afford the balcony I would highly recommend it. We used ours every single day (especially when the kids were tired form kids crew the night before and we let them sleep in a little, we would sit out on the balcony and drink our coffee).

:) Thanks..
I am looking into the Mexico Cruise in 08 and i really want to get a verandah room because of the ability to get some fresh aire in the room and to be able to have breakfast in our verandah and watch whales (hopefully) as it is prime whale, dolphin seeing in Mexico around that time.
Who else is planning on going to Mexico?
I have a 3 year old and would love to get to know some people that are going that have kids too... :)

Just saw that it was Pflag at sea cruise..............its the week before my daughter's final spring break in high school (she's a senior), do you think the gods will be mad at me because I have senoritis and want to take her on the cruise?
We have the same schedule...our kids Spring break is the week after Easter, but the cruise is the week before. Too bad, since it's the first cruise we could have actually driven to!
But...if I just had one child who was a senior, I might consider pulling her out! As it was, our middle school aged daughter had enough of a problem missing ONE day for the cruise last month. I can't imagine how the teachers would react if it was a whole week.

We brought our best friend and her son-a senior-for part of his graduation gift. He had the time of his life in the Carribian. Life experience is much better than anything that you can learn in school-tell the teachers in advance-they will give them the lessons-go on the trip!
When I was 17 I spent a semister in Italy and Greece-the best experience of my life as well. DOn't second guess yourself-and how many kids get this opportunity? Just do it honey and enjoy every second. See you in Mexico:D

I unfortunately am not going to be able to come on the Mexico cruise either as my partner's inventory is that week and she is not able to get off; can you imagine that, her bosses won't give her inventory week off to go on an RFamily cruise with her partner, even if she is the Loss Prevention Manager
I guess I am going to have to wait and see what is going to be offered the following year :-( After going two cruises in a row, I am very upset to miss the next three :(
