I have only ever been on two Caribbean cruises. I love swimming and the tropical weather. I love the r family vibe and am considering Alaska. Does anyone know will the kids be able to enjoy the pools on the ship or too chilly? What is weather like in July? We can't afford a balcony room so I am hoping to enjoy the outside decks. Thanks for any experienced opinions!

We definitely used the pool on the last Alaska cruise!!! Granted the air was a bit chilly but the kids did not seem to care. We packed way too many winter clothes last time when we ended up wearing shorts almost everyday except when we went on the excursions near the glacier! We are so psyched to go again!!!!
See you all soon!!!

We are from Arizona and are sissies about cold weather because we never have any and we were pleasantly surprised at how mild the weather was and we too definitely had too many winter clothes. Spent the week in jeans and tshirts and an occasional jacket. A sweatshirt jacket, not a heavy one. I had thought it would all be snowy and it was not. Even on the glacier when we dogsledded, we had jackets on only part of the time. Layering is the best so you can be as warm/cool as you like. We are so looking forward to visiting again even with it being mostly the same ports. We knew we would go back, just didn't know it would be so soon or with RFamily again. It is gorgeous country and there are lots of things to do in each port if you are inclined to want to explore.

I was in Anchorage in July 2004 and it was actually a heat wave for Alaskans because it hit 85. Normally it is in the 70s. I would bring jeans and short sleeve shirts.... perhaps a light jacket at night.
