Okay...so, we're bringing some straight friends on the cruise and they need to know if there's a straight-friendly part of the ship...or a straight bar. Or is there a special "badge" they wear so they can be easily identified by each other? :p

But seriously, does anyone know if some straight functions that have been organized?

We do not do separate activites for our straight friends and families. However, our straight folks will make up about 15% of the ship this year. All activities are geared towards both audiences.

We may host a grandparent's tea, but it has not been confirmed.

Kelli - just wanted you to know that I think it's great that you're NOT segregating (wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the cruise and the purpose of the rfamily organization).

Maybe one of these days I'll be able to join you guys on a cruise,,,I think I'd have a blast!

To clarify...we're not asking for segregation, simply an easy way for our single straight friends to meet other single straights. Last year on the cruise, we met some great, funny straight girls that were 'confused' about the best way to accomplish their goal of finding the eligible straight men. The poor dears searched all week and never found a one! (Maybe there wasn't one!)

It could be as simple as a straight, single cocktail mixer in one of the ship's lounges...

Just an idea.

Grandparents tea sounds like so much fun. We did a tea on the Disney cruise. Me and my older son. It was so much fun. We got all dressed up and went. We laughed and had the best time ever.

What about something like a mini pin that people can stick on their backpacks or whatever they carry? It can be a simple design which is a code for those who wear the pin.

I'm not brilliant on the design end, but here's an idea:

Here's a link to what it would look like as a pin:

I love the idea of a Grandparent's Tea or something for the grandparents to meet each other, hopefully fairly early on in the week. What a great idea! I thnk that would be great for my parents who are coming...

I'd like to second the grandparents' tea idea. I know my mom would love it!

Not to be making a huge generalization, but I do know that many grandmothers do knit, crochet and/or needlepoint.

We will be having a knitting circle on Monday (our first day at sea). If you are interested, please join us. I am sure that there will be other strait grannies and maybe even a grumpy or two. Check out the Check out the Freestyle Daily, the ship’s daily newsletter for details on location and time.

We’d love it if you would join us.
