we are a binational couple of almost 7 years. I will try not to bore you with details of our ups and downs this past year. in brief, we began our journey into parenthood approx three years ago--i am proud to say we became fathers thru surrogacy and now have an 8 month old daughter--Isabella. this has been the best and most trying year for me (and my partner). you see, my partner is from Brazil. before Isabella was born in August, 2005, we decided to go on a short trip in May. unfortunately, he was unable to return to USA with me and is now residing in Toronto. therefore, I have been a single parent with the help of my very supportive parents. the sad thing is that my partner has only been able to be a part of her life very sparingly (as well as my own life). our child has gone to Canada already four times in her 8 month life. we are at our wits end and loss without hope of ever being the family we have always dreamed. if you have any suggestions or advice we will take it from anyone--i so desperately want my daughter to have BOTH parents in her life. in regards to these cruises, is there ever a cruise that is within the USA so binational couples can share this experience without a risk in being separated. i personally think it would be a great option for those of us who unfortunately have to live in the dark for fear of being caught. sorry to be so lengthy but i truly believe that Rosie and those of you working with her can understand the importance of family for every child.
thanks, marc, ernani, and isabella
