I just watched the All Aboard documentary on HBO. What a powerful and incredibly emotional experience.
I had 3 of my 4 children sit and watch it with me.
I haven't been able to explain fully about the family I grew up with. Atleast not in a way they comprehend. My two Dad's passed away from AIDS 14 years ago when I was 15. So they never got to experience the boundless love of their Grandfathers.
We have always taught our children that LOVE makes a family. We keep pictures of my Dad's on the mantle and talk about them often. I attempted forming a chapter of Love Makes a Family in our local community and was met with little interest. I think fear still grips many.

I cried through most of the documentary.
I felt such joy for the children having somewhere where their families were accepted and celebrated. Something I so wish I had had growing up. I told my husband it's an experience I so wish I could have. A vacation where MY family was the norm.

I just wanted to express my thanks for making such an incredible opportunity possible for so many families.

Wow.. that was beautiful... I am sure your Dad's are looking down on you with such love and pride for the wonderful person you have turned out to be......

I was thinking something very similar when I was watching... and also marvelling over all these wonderful kids that are being brought up to accept people .. all people for who they are.. no judgements.. wow.. what a wonderful world this would be if all kids were raised by gay parents....

...what a wonderful world this would be if ALL children were raised by simply LOVING parents. I'm a gay parent and I'm am so greatful for that blessing from GOD, however what I know or what I've learnt is LOVE is that essential ingredient that makes a family a FAMILY.

I just watched the documentary on HBO... I'm not gay, but your group has my fullest respect and support for your goals of equal rights. The phrase, "Home is where the heart is", I feel also applies to families... God bless you all! Actually, I think I should have posted this on another thread... Ooops!
