I have been waiting for weeks to watch this show. HBO, god bless you!!! I have cried, laughed and enjoyed the last hour and a half. Ro and Kelly are incredible people. This show did exactly what we need it to do. It showed kids and how they are addressing the isssue of having 2 moms or 2 dads. And how "real" we all are. We just want the world to see us the way we seee ourselves.
We are parents of a 14 year old son. Also we have been trying to concieve another baby for more than 2 years. I have a muscle disease. I'm sick, we worry about so many things.. the very worst part about our expeiences is stress caused by discrimination and fear. We recently traveled to Florida to visit my family there. My partner almost died because she was having an allergic reaction and the docs and nurses that hospital ostrasized her all because she is "butch". It was an amazing experience.. something our then 13 year old son will NEVER forget.
As I see the teen girls react to the discrimination as they left the ship in Naussa.. I hurt, and wish my son was there because he knows how that feels and he would stand proud along side the girls and say that we are a larger family..
I have been praying for a way to manage my illness and our finanaces so that we can come there with our families like ours. We will someday join you...
So from two mothers - in Oklahoma I say thank you!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful families with us.
With love and peace to all
