Hello,
You know, cruises do go out of Baltimore, and I think that this would be an ideal location for an Rfamily cruise to either sail out of or dock in. Baltimore's Inner Harbor is a family/kids paradise--there's the Baltimore Aquarium, the Power Plant--which is great shops and fun sites, like the ESPN Zone--, they have Amphibious Vehicle Rides and a great Children's Museum. Plus, Baltimore has fantastic places to eat, like Little Italy. Wow! It would be a really fun place, and I think kids would love it. There is a ton to see and do there! And, if people were SUPER ambitious, Washington D.C. is about 45 minutes away, and there's tons to see (and protest) there.
I suggest Baltimore as a port of call or even as a departure site. I know cruises do go down through Charleston, SC, etc. It might be fun to do an "East Coast" cruise.
Of course, Baltimore would be great for us here--we can actually drive to the ship! So, I guess my own agenda is a little evident. But, there is no doubt that it's a great location for kids and family--plus, Maryland is very liberal, and they're in the process of beginning to push for gay marriage!
