My name is Joe Adams. My partner ,Scott Smith, and I were registered to go on the Alaska cruise last June. It was to be our trial run to see if we were up to moving forward with growing our family. Unfortunately, we never made the cruise. Scott was diagnosed with Burkhitt's Lymphoma and fought it bravely for 4 months until his body was no longer able to withstand the disease or the treatment. He passed away on October 2nd. During that time, we received a wonderful mood booster fom R Family that included a thsirt, cap and several other items along with an inspirational message from Rosie. I want to say thank you very much to the R Family team. This gesture was not only unexpected but it
touched our hearts beyond what words can say.

I am putting the pieces of my "new" life together and have begun to work with the Lymphoma Research Foundation to help bring awareness to the disease and the toll it takes on the patient and the caregiver. One attempt to bolster awareness, currently underway, is the Tri For Scott fund. My friend, Rico Pena, decided earlier this year to compete in the Iron Man Triathalon in honor of Scott and the battle that he and many others have gone (and are going) through. Rico won the Iron Man lottery which allows him to skip qualifying meets and go directly to Hawaii in October 2007. What an incredible surprise this was for us. This is coming more suddenly than we had expected, since we were looking for him to compete in the 2008 Iron Man. The cost of going to the Iron Man is $25,000. We've got a good start to raising this money, but need to step up our efforts to make this happen. We have several sponsorship options available and we would appreciate your consideration to hearing more on the subject.

Thank you again for all you do, this wonderful company, and being the leader in true Family vacations.

Sincerely,
Joe

How about replacing the original thread for the July 2007 cruise? Or do you just prefer the republican approach of revisionist history? Here is a link to the original thread,

http://www.rfamilyforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14

Put this back in the main thread list.
