:) Gay dads were included in a four part series 'forever family' part 2. The experience of sharing our story was amazing...and emotional. Our 2 yr and 4 yr old could not have been more thrilled to see themselves on television. We hope that hearing our words and those of their biological mother about how our family came to be will be conforting to our children as they are older and more questioning. The experience was one of also representing our community...hoping that the message that "non traditional" families are realy special and also just very "normal"! Cheyenne came to us as an emergency placement through foster care. That amazing experience led to the reliquishing of parental rights and then an adoption. The birth mother when discovering that she was pregnant again found us and choose us to adopt directly at birth. These stories do exist! We realy feel a need to tell our story hoping it is heard...and others in foster care are found by seeking to be parents. We just feel very blessed.

This story can be viewed on line. Bring up the WCAX web site. 'search' for "forever family part 2"

James and Craig,

What a beautiful story; I have tears in my eyes. You have been blessed; both you and your children are very lucky to have each other. What a selfless and loving thing Karen did for her children and for you two :-)

It is when stories like yours are told that hopefully will change people's minds regarding same-sex adoptions and families. Thank you for sharing yours.

Good luck with your family :-)

wigglewomyn & markryanrory,
Thanks for your kind words. :D We were thrilled to do this in hopes to shed light to those who are looking to build families. Foster Care has amazing children, like ours, out there wanting a family...

Maybe ignorence:mad: from the Far Right will be replaced with love and compassion ;) for our very, simply 'normal' families!
