Hi All,
I was privileged to see All Aboard! Rosie’s Family Cruise at Sundance and wanted tell all the cruisers what a wonderful film Shari Cookson made. I found myself unexpectedly crying (like I did at the opening moments of Lion King on Broadway) because I was so moved by beauty of the film. The love of a family, in all stages of life, just flowed off the screen and into my heart (as corny as that sounds). I am a mother of an almost 4 year old and step-mother to a large multi-racial mostly adopted family so the movie touched me in many ways. While it of course addressed the obvious social issues of gay/lesbian parenting, it really conveyed the message that family is family, no matter what the structure. The love is the same. The issues with teenagers, the excitement of a new child, the joy of marriage etc. is no different than in other families. Also, the teenagers were the most inspiring of all and proved to the world that you don’t need traditional woman/man parents to raise charming, bright, loving and caring kids.

I identified with many of the things addressed in the film and I think that other hetero families will feel the same.

So, big kudos to Shari Cookson, and of course Kelly & Rosie O’Donnell and Gregg Kaminsky for making this film possible, and allowing us to share in your lives. We hope to join your cruise some day.
