My partner and I are looking for a new holiday tradition for our family. As our kids grow older we don't want to put them thru our stress of waiting to see if we will be invited to the extended family and then worrying about how they will be treated or how they will see their moms treated. I have been searching all over but can't find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? We also want to avoid a straight environment that be as judgemental as my partners family. We just had a 19 year old college student refuse to babysit for us so I may be a little sensitive right now but I want to plan early for next year.
Thanks for your suggestions

Why did the 19 year old refuse to babysit? Please don't tell me because you are gay? I can't take it!!!!
We are lucky enough to be welcome with the family...but if we weren't, I would definately be looking for something to do each year. I know growing up we ALWAYs went to our cabin in the woods for new years....and it was something that I looked forward to every year through college even. I think that anything you make your family's own...will be special.
Good luck!

We are six people me, my wife, my two children and one of my friend and his wife planning a holiday. A travel agent recommend me to go Key west florida which has some great place to visit like Mallory Square, Duval Street and Pirate Soul museum.
