:( We were up in the air...due to the West coast departure. But now it is official, we will be missing the 3rd rfamily cruise. My wife has taken a new job, and that is the primary reason that we are not able to vacation in July.

I am so scared that we will miss something, and not be in "the loop" for cruise #4.

Anyone else "NOT" going this year, for whatever reason????? Maybe we can start a support group :)

Sign me up for that support group.

We were on the last two cruises, but just can't afford this third one. We are definitly planning on coming back for the 4th and maybe even getting married on that one. I feel the same way about being out of the loop. Rfamily has an awesome vacation and I just know they will do it bigger and better every single year! I hate missing out.

Maybe I'll win the lottery or my school will give me a giant raise! Wait...you have to play the lottery to win it...right?

So, where does this support group meet for hugs and drinks?

Im in for the support group. I am still holding out for that BIG bonus so that I can go at the last minute. My wife works at a Major Amusment park and cannot get off for 4th of July week anyway. I do NOT want to miss this one but it dosent look good. The west coast departure is a tough one adding to the costs the air and Hotel but i can understand how the west coasters felt the last two times. Its only fair. It will give us the opportunity to do some other kind of vacation ( what? there are other kinds of vacations? LOL). We are definately in for the Feb 07 and July 07. This site will hopefully get me through..........:(

Hi everyone, We plan on going on the cruise but I know what your saying about the finances. We couldn't afford the flight plus the cruise so we are traveling to Seattle by Train. It's a three day trip from P.A. to Washington, this is going to be very interesting traveling with the four kids (13,11,9 and 2). We can only take two bags per person and they have a size limit and weight limit. We are traveling coach so that means no beds for three nights. This trip is going to take every penny of our tax return, I'm not sure we are doing the right thing by going...........maybe I should join the support group and save our tax return. If anyone knows of a way to make large sums of cash quickly and legally PLEASE let me know. A big hug to everyone. Cheri-Kim

Hrmm, well we not going because My better half has taken a new position and the company she works for has been bought out by UPS so now she is going to be doing allott of travel just not with me .. grrr... I figure on Playstation time with the boys.. Her first trip is in February she leaves Valentines day. I hate UPS already . So needless to say no cruise for us this year and it ticks me off because we can actually afford it this year. So Im all up for support group beers food whatever no matter which order it comes in :)

We can't go either. I am so so sad because my partner of 7 years and I got married on the last cruise and it was just magic. I hate to admit that I cry each time a commercial comes on T.V. for a stupid carnival cruise. It breaks our heart. But as a household making only 35,000 a year, its impossible to go. We were lucky enought to have gotten last years cruise as a gift, but 3,000 or so is just too much.

We need to form not only a support group but a scholorship (or adoption program) for us poor folks who desperatly need to be connected to other gay familys. Ahh well. :( At least we have our memories.

Here we are getting married....what magic.

I so agree with you. I would like to see maybe R family expand into chapters in each state so we could connect with other families. We are all family and it would be great to connect with each other on a more frequent basis. The cruise is wonderful experience but it would be great to have little experiences like that thru out the year. I am open to starting a R family chapter in Indiana. Take care all and know that you are not alone and there are others just like us everywhere. :)

Okay, that's IN, NJ, PA, and Missouri so far. I'm thinking Ohio is a good middle meeting point! I'm surrounded by a national forest so there would be plenty of camping spots, and since I don't think I'm going to be able to conquer my fear of flying (Columbus to Seattle!!!), I guess I wont be going either:( Who wants to lead the campfire blues?

Ahhh, scared of flying???? That is putting it lightly how I feel about flying :( I am PETRIFIED! When we went to CO last year (from Upstate NY), my partner got our doctor to give her some meds to make me relax and sleep <weg>.

We always wanted to go on a cruise, and to Alaska and this seemed like a once in a lifetime opportunity so.....I bit the bullet and made reservations. I guess we will be visiting our doctor around July 21st or so of this year ;)

Thanks for the tip Wendy! Good for you!!!:D I have tried the Benedryl, Coors Light, Xanax and even Jose Cuervo routes!! I think if I could fly the plane, or if they would at least give me a parachute, maybe I could do it. There's just something about having absolutely NO control, being completely dependent on others that I don't know, and the high altitude of course. I used to fly all the time-necessary evil of a previous profession-but my fear just became worse and worse. One of these days.... I hope you have a great time, as I know you will!!!!

I won't be going either. I cannot afford it this year, I had to use up all my savings that I was going to use to pay for the crusie to take care of doctors bills. I just had to go skiing and "break a leg," and have no health insurance.
